Account Executive (AE)
Help incident responders around the world. Collaborate in a supportive, high-impact team and grow as we shape Europe’s leading incident response platform.
About StrangeBee 🐝
StrangeBee started in 2018 with a simple idea from the creators of TheHive and Cortex: give security teams open tools that actually help them respond to incidents. Today, TheHive is used by thousands of security analysts in 43 countries. We’re a team of 90 people across Paris, Barcelona, the US and we’re growing the hive. Want to contribute?
How we work
Customer Centric: we build for real security teams facing real threats.
Quest for Excellence: “good enough” isn’t our standard.
Embrace Change: cyber moves fast, and so do we. If something could be better, say it.
One Team: trust, open communication and psychological safety, across titles and teams.
We’re looking for an Account Executive to win and grow large, strategic accounts in a highly competitive cybersecurity market. Based in Paris or Barcelona, you’ll work hand in hand with our pre-sales, marketing and customer success teams to position TheHive as a critical part of our customers’ incident response and security operations. As we accelerate with enterprise customers, this role is key to closing the complex, high-value deals that drive our growth.
The essentials
Location: Paris or Barcelona, hybrid (2 days a week in the office)
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Reports to: VP Sales
Salary: €100,000 – €140,000 OTE/year
Travel: customer meetings and industry events
Territory: Europe
What you’ll do
Own the full sales cycle on large and strategic accounts, from prospecting to signature
Build and execute account plans within complex, multi-entity organizations
Engage senior stakeholders, including CISOs, Heads of SOC and CSIRT leaders
Lead negotiations involving legal, procurement and security teams
Run demos, proofs of concept and workshops with our pre-sales team, and account-based campaigns with marketing
Build a qualified pipeline, keep the CRM rigorous and forecast with clear, honest visibility, including when a deal is at risk
Share competitive insights with product and leadership, and bring new ideas to improve our sales process
What success looks like
First 3 months: you know TheHive, our market and our key accounts, you’ve built your account plans and your pipeline is taking shape
By 6 months: you’ve moved strategic opportunities to advanced stages and closed your first deal(s), with a forecast the team can trust
By 12 months: you’ve hit your annual target and expanded our footprint within your key accounts
What you bring
5+ years as an Account Executive or in a similar B2B software sales role
You’ve closed enterprise or strategic deals with significant deal sizes, through long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
You negotiate and close with confidence in competitive environments
You explain technical and operational value clearly, especially around SOC operations, incident response, integrations and automation
You manage several complex opportunities in parallel with strong CRM and forecasting discipline
You take initiative, do what you say you’ll do, and try a different approach when the playbook doesn’t fit
You put the customer’s real interest first, even when it means a harder conversation or a longer path to close
Experience selling cybersecurity, SaaS or infrastructure software
Fluent French and English, written and spoken, wherever you’re based
Nice to have
Experience selling to large enterprises, public sector organizations or MSSPs
Familiarity with SOC, CSIRT or incident response workflows
Experience in multi-country or international sales environments
Don’t tick every box? Apply anyway. This list is a guide, not a checklist. We care more about how you think and learn than about a perfect match.
